CG reenlists enlisted aide at ‘daughter’s tree’

FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas — Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, commanding general, U.S. Army North and Fort Sam Houston, reenlists Staff Sgt. Edmund Perez, his enlisted aide, during a Jan. 19 reenlistment ceremony in the Quadrangle. Perez chose to reenlist in front of the Monterey Oak he dedicated to the memory of his daughter, Alyssa, who passed away June 4, 2010, two weeks after her 10th birthday. Perez and his wife, Angie, were joined at the ceremony by their three daughters, Ariana, Ava and Alicia.
