LTG Pepin’s prior General Officer assignments include the Chief of Staff for the North American Aerospace Defense Command & U.S. Northern Command; Commanding General of U.S. Army Military District of Washington & Joint Task Force-National Capital Region; Deputy Commanding General of U.S. Army Special Operations Command (Airborne); and Commanding General of U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (Airborne).

His field grade and company grade leadership assignments include Commander of 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade; Commander of Task Force 1-160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) (SOAR(A)); Commander of 1st Battalion, 145th Aviation Regiment; Commander of Bravo Company, Task Force 1-160th SOAR(A); Commander of Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment; and Gun Platoon Leader of C Troop of 3rd Squadron, 4th U.S. Cavalry Regiment.

LTG Pepin’s field grade and company grade staff assignments include Executive Officer to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Forces Command; Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence; Regiment Operations Officer and Executive Officer for 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne); Brigade Operations Officer for 82nd Aviation Brigade (Airborne); Battalion Operations Officer/Task Force Operations Officer for 1st Attack Battalion/TF Wolfpack, 82nd Aviation Brigade (Airborne); Special Mission Unit Liaison Officer; Battalion Operations Officer for Task Force 1-160th (SOAR)(A); Battalion Flight Operations Officer for Task Force 1-160th (SOAR)(A); and Battalion Intelligence Officer for 1st Attack Battalion, 101st Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division.

He has deployed with TF-160th SOAR(A) and has multiple combat deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq with the 160th SOAR(A), 82nd Airborne Division, and 3rd Infantry Division.

LTG Pepin was commissioned into Army Aviation as a distinguished military graduate through the U.S. Army ROTC program at Northeastern University and received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He holds master’s degrees in business management and National Security and Strategic Studies. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Aviation Basic Officer Course and Flight School, Rappel Master Course, Cavalry Leaders Course, Armor Advanced Course, Jump Master Course, Command and General Staff College, and the Naval War College.

He attributes awards he has received to the incredible service members, civilians, and families he has had the honor to serve for and with. LTG Pepin has earned the Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, the Master Aviator Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Ranger Tab.

A native of Massachusetts, LTG Pepin is married to a Department of the Army Civilian Attorney. They have a son, daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter.
