Command Sergeant Major Jerimiah E. Gan enlisted in the Army as a Combat Engineer in July of 1997. He is a 1997 graduate of Crocker High School in Missouri and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Charleston University.
His military education includes the National Defense University Keystone Course, U.S. Army War College Nominative Leader Course, U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy-Class 64, U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence First Sergeant Course, Mountain Warfare School, Long Range Surveillance Leaders Course, Sapper Leaders Course, Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Battle Staff Course, Master Resilience Course, and Drill Sergeant School.
Command Sergeant Major Gan began his career assigned to 5th Engineer Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Following a tour in Korea with the 2nd Engineer Battalion, he returned to Fort Leonard Wood, where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF I). Upon his return, he attended Drill Sergeant School and was assigned to the 35th Engineer Battalion.
In 2006, he was assigned to Fort Benning, Georgia where he served as a Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant in Echo Company, 1-15 Infantry Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, deploying in support of OIF V and VII.
Other assignments include First Sergeant, 31st Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade; the 12th Chief Instructor of the Sapper Leader Course; the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy; Command Sergeant Major for both, 326th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1 Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); 1st Engineer Brigade; Command Sergeant Major for the Army Training Center and Fort Jackson. Command Sergeant Major Gan's most recent assignment was Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Cadet Command, Fort Knox in Kentucky.

Command Sergeant Major Gan is married to Autumn and together they have six children and two grandchildren.
